  • Conducted detailed design work and kinematics analyses to validate truss structure
  • Built a full-scale prototype and demonstrated through tests the mast's stowage, deployment and fully deployed stiffness characteristics
COMMERCIALIZATION
  • Commercial users of imagery for telecommunications, nonrenewable extraction and forestry are potential future customers
  • Environmental studies, natural resource management, disaster management, industrial planning, surveying are generating a large market for radar imaging data
  • AEC-Able Engineering Company was purchased by ATK, Inc.
GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS
  • Received $400,000 for NuSTAR development work before cancellation
  • Baselined for the Wide Swath Ocean Altimeter (WSOA) instrument before cancellation
  • Future Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and radar interferometry instrument missions
