ACCOMPLISHMENTS
    • Demonstrated capillary pumping and improved evaporator performance with micromachined structures 
    • New technology increased potential conversion efficiency for AMTEC cells by 30 to 40 percent
COMMERCIALIZATION
    • Supplying components to advanced radioisotope power source program (ARPS) which is developing a power source for future deep space missions
    • Commercial applications include  remote site power generation, back up power sources for households, and commercial communication satellites
GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS
    • Efficiency gains have led to AMTEC selection by NASA/DOE for small satellite power conversion
    • AMTEC power conversion has been selected for the solar probe mission and is under development in the advanced radioisotope power source (ARPS) program
