ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • General Aviation CAD (G.A.-CAD) software package simplifies process of designing general aviation aircraft.
  • All applicable performance and flying quality regulations are embedded in the program giving the designer an immediate assessment as to whether or not the design meets air worthiness regulations.
  • Program performs the calculations for the designer, reducing design and development time by half.
  • Program rapidly determines how change in one part of the design affects all other parts, taking into consideration all aspects of the configuration from weight sizing and wing loading to stability and control surface requirements, among a host of other parameters.
COMMERCIALIZATION
  • The software package is sold under the name General Aviation CAD (G.A.-CAD)
  • Target markets: Small manufacturers with little experience in obtaining General Aviation certification, home builders of airplanes, students and others interested in the design and analysis of aircraft
  • G.A.-CAD created a new profit center/business segment within DAR Corporation
  • Three full-time jobs are associated with G.A.-CAD. $400,000 cumulative sales revenues to date $500,000 cumulative private capital investment to date.
  • A spin-off product, Aero-CADD, is another computer aided design program with special tools built in for airplane design.
GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS
  • General Aviation Revitalization
  • Enables small airplane manufacturers and individuals to design new airplanes by using advanced design tools fulfilling
