INNOVATION 
    Infrared Transmitting optical fibers are combined with FTIR spectroscopy to enable remote on-line chemical composition analysis in difficult process environments

ACCOMPLISHMENTS 
    • Developed high sensitivity surface (Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Tech- nique (DRIFT) and immersion (Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) sensors
    • Developed connecting cables and optics to interface with most     infrared spectrometers
    • Provided Single component resolution of common organics in

    • complex mixtures down to < 100 ppm
COMMERCIALIZATION 
    • Formed Sensiv, Inc, to manufacture and distribute in North America and Sensiv Ltd. In Europe/Mid East
    • Laboratory accessories ommercially available through Spectra-Tech, Inc. (Shelton, CT)
    • Anticipate $ 1M in product revenue through end of 1999
    • Dedicated systems using the technology under development

    • NASA/DOD-Cure monitoring of polymers, including advanced composites and solid rocket motor propellants
    • NASA/DOD-Field characterization of hazardous wastes
