ACCOMPLISHMENTS
 
    • Developed a Computational Fluid Dynamics software package using unstructured, adaptive meshing methodology
    • Developed a preliminary design methodology which uses statistical processes  to determine the critical design loads for design of hypersonic vehicles
COMMERCIALIZATION
 
    • Awarded Phase III contract from HyperX project office at NASA Langley Research Center
    • Negotiated Phase III contract with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace for further development and applications of computer software
    • Plans underway to market software worldwide with Intergraph Corporation
GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS
    • NASA Langley currently using software in analysis and design of HyperX vehicle stage separation process
    • Direct application to simulation of vortex tube flows for advanced vehicles
    • Interfaces with existing codes for analysis of Scramjet combustion processes 
    • Statistical design method can save 10% in dry weight of hypersonic vehicles
